Expert Dog Training Made Local

Founder of Northwood Dog Training, Kaitlynn Mahlberg has been training/counseling dogs in the community for nearly a decade. Beginning her career at another training facility, she held AKC certification and instructed daily group classes.

With experience from running those classes Kaitlynn found a deep need in the Duluth / Superior area for affordable private lessons that offer more benefits for dogs than the facilities were (including reactive dogs). Group classes may be helpful after private training, but dogs and people need the personalized 1:1 experience in the right environment to learn effectively.

This led to the opening Northwood Dog Training. We continue to offer expert training & counseling to dogs from the comfort of their own property and neighborhood!
